Your phone already shoots well. The problem is you cannot reach the settings.

Maker's note

I made it for my own phone. I thought the camera could do better than it was doing, but I could not reach the fine controls: ISO, shutter, white balance, which lens is actually being used. The default camera app hides all of that from you.

But opening the settings is not enough on its own; a long list of sliders is useless if you do not know which one to change or why. So the second half of the app became the teaching: after every shot the coach tells you in one plain sentence why the photo is blurred, or why the sky came out white — measured from the photo itself.

The academy came from the same place. The lessons happen in the camera: you shoot the same scene two or three ways and see your own photos side by side. You learn by shooting, not by reading.

A camera that teaches

Smart mode picks the right way to shoot for the light in front of it: one frame in daylight, several merged in low light, dark frames merged when the sky is bright and the shadows deep. After every shot the coach says in one plain sentence what went wrong and offers to fix it and shoot again.

The academy

Eleven modules from the basics to real jobs: light, composition, portrait, weddings and events, product and food, landscape, street, macro, video and editing. Most lessons happen in the camera.

Full manual when you want it

ISO, shutter, focus distance and white balance in kelvin, each switching between auto and manual. Choose the ultra-wide, main or telephoto as a real camera. Exposures as long as the sensor allows.

Real RAW

DNG, JPEG or both. Merge mode takes several RAW frames, aligns them patch by patch and writes a single DNG: mean for less noise, median to erase people walking through, brightest for light trails.

Studio and shooting tools

Film and retro looks — old digital CCD, warm amateur film, tungsten cinema, instant print — with grain, halation and vignette, live in the viewfinder or applied later. While shooting: histogram, waveform, zebra, false colour, focus peaking, a two-axis level. The original file is never touched.

Photos and videos are saved to DCIM/Kadraj on your phone and never leave the device. No account, no ads, no analytics.
